Mario Balotelli was born in Palermo, Sicily, to Ghanaian immigrants Thomas and Rose Barwuah. The family moved to Bagnolo Mella in the province of Brescia, Lombardy, shortly after he was born.As an infant, he had life-threatening complications with his intestines which led to a series of operations, although his condition had improved by 1992. Mario’s health problems and the family’s cramped living conditions meant the Barwuahs decided to ask for the help of social services who recommended that he be fostered.
In 1993, the Barwuah family agreed to entrust the three-year-old boy to Francesco and Silvia Balotelli, his new foster family from Concesio, Brescia,with the legal move formalized by the Court of Brescia. When Mario Balotelli became famous, his biological parents asked for his return. He later accused them of “glory hunting”, stating that they only wanted him back because of the prominence he had gained.According to Law 91 of 5 February 1992,Balotelli had to wait until his 18th birthday to request Italian citizenship, as the Balotellis had not adopted him. Balotelli officially gained citizenship in Concesio on 13 August 2008
Mario has three biological siblings: Abigail, Enoch and Angel Barwuah.Enoch Barwuah, two years his junior, had a trial at English Premier League side Stoke City in December 2011

THE 'TRUE NZEMA':A LAYERED IDENTITY

Abstract:         Nzema has been used historically as a multiple term to describe different but interrelated social, political and territorial realities. Failure to understand the historical context fully has led to persistent ambiguity in writings about the area, especially in anthropological studies. The tendency is to isolate 'ethnic groups' as precise categories in a broad context which in reality is covered by a pervasive network of continua. This article deals with the historical 'mapping' of 'what it is to be Nzema' and therefore puts forward a framework for analysing the question of identity in its actual formulation or, in other words, in relation to local ideological and political processes. Finally, it attempts to identify some of the registers which inform the question and some of the criteria for the use of each specific register by individuals and communities.


      D'un point de vue historique, Nzema a servi de terme multiple pour décrire des réalités sociales, politiques et territoriales différentes mais étroitement liées. Faute de comprendre pleinement le contexte historique, les écrits traitant de cette région, et notamment les études anthropologiques, ont montré une ambiguïté persistante. La tendance est d'isoler les 'groupes ethniques' en catégories précises dans un contexte plus large qui est en réalité couvert par un réseau tentaculaire de continuums. Cet article traite du 'mappage' historique de 'ce qu'est être Nzema', et propose ainsi un cadre d'analyse de la question de l'identité dans sa formulation réelle ou, en d'autres termes, par rapport aux processus idéologiques et politiques locaux. Enfin, il tente d'identifier certains des registres qui éclairent la question et certains des critères d'utilisation de chaque registre spécifique par des personnes et des communautés.

Marseille ready to sell Jordan but not Andre

Olympique Marseille want to hold onto talisman Andre Ayew but ready to listen to offers for his younger brother Jordan. 

This emerged after the financially-stricken club put all of its players but Andre and Nicolas N'Koulou on the transfer list.

Coach Didier Deschamps is a great admirer of Cameroon defender N’Koulou and Andre and has asked the president of the club not to sell the two players as he plans to rebuild the team around them.

A source who spoke on the condition of anonymity told Provence: "Apart from Nicolas N'Koulou and to a lesser extent, Andre Ayew, all of our players are for sale."

Jordan, 20, has been linked with a loan move to Saint Etienne next season.

Marseille's financial trouble and the failure to qualify for next edition of Champions League has deprived Les Phoceens of much-needed financial windfall.

In order to balance the books, Marseille have to sell many players in the summer as they are facing a deficit of 35 million Euros.

FIRST IMPRESSION-CATCH THE READER'S ATTENTION

Every time I open a new post, I re-write the first sentence at least five times, delete it, and finally come back to it. What’s the big idea? The introductory sentence in a blog post is arguably the most important. Its sole purpose is to lead visitors into reading the rest of your post with its succinct and captivating tone.

When writing the introduction to your post, keep in mind that this is your post’s first impression. What can you do to make your post lead, or lede for the journalists in the crowd, stand out?

• Keep it simple. An ideal lead is about 35 to 40 words long and only a sentence or two. If you write too long of a lead, you may lose some of your readers. Instead, you want to grab their attention as quickly as possible.
• Be creative. My favorite leads often pull from other resources, such as music or pop culture. If you’re writing an opinion piece about something on the news, can you tie in an individual narrative or a surprising fact? For humorous posts, what about a funny pun or pop cultural reference?
• Stay active. Using strong verbs and straightforward writing in your lead is more enticing than a sentence chock full of fluff. The details of your tale can always be added later, but you want to make sure you have your reader’s attention before diving into them.

For bloggers, we sometimes use images to introduce our stories as well. Photos can be a great tool for pulling in readers when used as an enhancement for your post. Writing a post about your recent road trip? Starting off with a picture of a stunning vista or that wacky roadside attraction can pack just as strong of a punch as a clever, word-based lead.
First impressions only happen once, so if you’re unsure of how to start your post don’t be afraid to write out of order. After you’ve written out your entire post, go back to the beginning of the story to add your lead. Sometimes, you won’t know how to begin your blog post until it’s already been written. This can also help you to organize your thoughts as you summarize the main points of your writing and what you specifically want to convey in your first attention-grabbing line.

The IRD-International Relief & Development Donates medical items and equipment in the Ellembelle, Evaloe Gwira, and Jomoro constituencies.

A United State based non-governmental organization the International Relief & Development   IRD , on the Tuesday 29 May, 2012  presented medical items and equipment valued at more than $350,000, to improve health delivery to three hospitals in the Ellembelle, Evaloe Gwira, and Jomoro constituencies.
The beneficiary hospitals are the St. Martin De Porres hospital at Eikwe in the Ellembelle District, the Axim government hospital in the Nzema-East District and the Half Assini government hospital in the Jomoro District.
The items which include theater lamps, theatre tables, beds, blood pressure apparatus, exams gloves, theatre shoes,  pieces of disposable examination gown, among others, was donated through a network.
Presenting the items, Mr. Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Ellembelle Constituency and the Deputy Minister of Energy, reiterated government’s commitment to improving the affordable healthcare delivery in the country.
He said whiles the development of the nation could only become a reality when the health care needs of the citizenry are met, the items are supposed to boost health care delivery in the region and Ghana as a whole.
The honourable Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah in a special appreciation acknowledged the contribution of IRD and Mr. Ali Nuhu Abekah, who is senior director of finance for the AVIPA+ project in Afghanistan and a native of Kamgbunli for his tireless role in getting the equipment for the hospitals.
In March, 2011 IRD organized a similar container shipment of medical supplies and medical equipment to the Alhaji Nuhu Memorial Healthcare Center in Kamgbunli, Ghana. The commodities, was valued at more than $300,000, aimed to improve health delivery in the town and its surrounding environs.
The Nzema Youth Association in a press release has warmly appreciated the wonderful gesture offered by the IRD to the good people of Ghana and also thanked Mr. Ali Nuhu Abekah for the excellent job and tireless efforts in trying to improve the health system of the region.
The  Public relations officer of the group Mr. Nuhu Mohammed in a statement said “Weak health systems constrain efforts to improve and scale up the delivery of quality healthcare and services because it doesn’t matter how willing and hardworking health personnel are, if they do not have the appropriate and adequate equipment, medical consumables, drugs and the needed skill-set to function, they will be frustrated and unable to work efficiently and effectively and patients and communities will suffer.”
He said it is therefore important that the process of health system strengthening in the region remains a continuous one as the population grows and the needs change.
The vice President Mr. Anyimah Efoli Kanrah on behalf of the group thanked Mr. Ali Nuhu Abekah and the IRD for the kind gesture and appealed to other self-spirited individuals and organisations to emulate their shining example.
In another development Mr. Buah also announced that funds were ready for the construction of the Tikobo No.1 Doctor’s Bungalow to enable doctors stay and help improve health delivery in the district.
Rev Sr. Comfort Buadi, who is the Assistant Matron at the Hospital thanked the MP and the government for the gesture and pledged the staff’s commitment to work on improving health delivery in the area.
She also appealed to the MP and the Assembly to consider constructing nurses flats to house staff and student nurses who would be posted to the hospital.
Mr. Daniel K. Eshun, the District Chief Executive, assured the staff that immediately the site was cleared the projects would begin since all necessary documentations had been completed.
He said the Assembly had earmarked Eight Hundred and Fifty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢ 850.000) from the District Development Fund (DDF) for the project and that the project shall be ready soon.
Mr. Eshun said the Assembly appreciates the contributions of the hospital to the District and pledged to consider the hospital for the construction of nurses’ hostel when the Assembly received any interventions.
